There is a WORD REFLECTED WITHIN! * Can you SEE it? * MaEzell Embellished Art * REFLECTION ART

About Us

My name is Susan Rowlett. I am a wife, mother, sister, and a woman of God.  In addition to all of these roles, I am also an elementary school teacher and an artist that loves to create. During the difficult time that the world was quarantined, I was able to tap into a God given gift that lay dormant in me for many years.

My MaEzell journey began when I was thinking about how I could surprise my sister, Charlene, with a special gift for her birthday. After much thought, God put it on my heart to create a work of art that was designed uniquely for her. I used a unique art form that I’ve enjoyed over the years that is twofold.  First, this art form takes a chosen name, word, or phrase as a focal point and transforms it into an elegant, abstract design. Secondly, the art piece can then be displayed vertically or horizontally.  Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.  I refer to this style of art as REFLECTION ART because it is distinctive and it sets my creations apart.  After presenting this gift to my sister, I received so much love and encouragement from her and my community that I was inspired to continue painting the MaEzell Way.

I entered into the pandemic on quarantine and came out with my very own art business. Wow, God is absolutely amazing! I decided to call my small business MaEzell Embellished Art LLC, in honor of my late mother Shirley MAE Hood and my late father Charles EZELL Hood who have both gone on to be with the Lord. I know they would be very proud of me for finally stepping out on faith and using my creative gift. I am a REFLECTION of them.  #MaEzellArt

What Our Clients Say

This piece was created in memory of my son, Dyamond, who passed away in 2020. It allows us to remember Dyamond and keep his loving memory alive. It's an eye-catching, beautiful piece of abstract art! It's a wonderful conversation piece whenever anyone walks in the room.
Thank you Susan!
